Wilderness Medicine & Technical Rescue Training
Precision Care in High-Angle and Remote Environments
When the environment is as dangerous as the injury, standard medical protocols aren’t enough. Our Wilderness Medicine and Rescue programs are designed for elite responders, SAR teams, and industrial professionals operating in the world’s most challenging terrains. We bridge the gap between clinical medicine and technical extraction.
Our Core Training Programs
1. Wilderness First Responder (WFR)
The “Gold Standard” for professional guides and remote site supervisors. This 80-hour course provides the leadership skills and medical depth required to run a remote medical scene.
- Focus: Advanced wound management, reduction of dislocations, and spinal clearing protocols.
- Target: Expedition leaders, field researchers, and remote safety officers.
2. Wilderness EMT (WEMT)
Upgrade your urban clinical skills for the backcountry. This course integrates standard EMT-B curriculum with wilderness protocols.
- Focus: Prolonged field care, pharmacology in the bush, and wilderness-specific legalities.
- Target: Professional First Responders and EMS personnel.
3. Technical Rope & High-Angle Rescue
Moving a patient safely requires mastery of gravity. This module covers the physics of rescue.
- Focus: Anchor systems, mechanical advantage (3:1 and 5:1 hauls), litter rigging, and ascending/descending techniques.
- Target: Mountain rescue teams and industrial technicians.
Comprehensive Course Curriculum
Our training is divided into three critical pillars of competency: | Pillar | Focus Areas | |—|—| | Advanced Life Support | Airway management in the field, tension pneumothorax, and field-expedient IV/IO access. | | Search & Navigation | Lost person behavior, GPS/Compass mastery, and night-op search patterns. | | Complex Extractions | Helicopter Landing Zone (HLZ) setup, swiftwater crossings, and vertical litter lowers. |
Why Train With Us?
Scenario-Based Immersion
We don’t use “plastic manikins” in air-conditioned rooms. Our training utilizes high-fidelity moulage (realistic injury makeup) and live “patients” in steep, wooded, or rocky terrain. You will be tested under physical stress and changing weather conditions.
Regulatory Compliance
All courses are developed in accordance with:
- WMS (Wilderness Medical Society) guidelines.
- International standards for Technical Rescue.
- Local Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) statutory requirements for remote work.
Equipment Mastery
Learn to use specialized rescue gear including:
- SKED and Stokes Litters.
- Vacuum Splints and improvised traction.
- Satellite communication and PLB (Personal Locator Beacon) integration.
Institutional & Corporate Solutions
We provide bespoke training packages for:
- Mega-Construction Projects: Safety protocols for high-elevation or isolated sites.
- Conservation & Forestry: Specialized rescue for rangers in anti-poaching or logging units.
- Government & NGO: Disaster response training for areas with collapsed infrastructure.
“In the wilderness, you don’t rise to the occasion; you sink to the level of your training. Train with the best.”
